Travel & Living in Hanoi, Vietnam. Sometimes not.
Regardless of your feelings about motorsport, Formula 1 comes to Vietnam next April and, according to the organizers, is on course for track completion in January. The track is a mix of permanent course and street sections, similar to the hybrid circuit in Melbourne, Australia.
While the event will put Hanoi in a global spotlight, the price we can expect is a certain level of disruption in advance of the race in early April. Thankfully, the option of a city center course was pooh poohed, and the circuit was shunted off to the side a little in order to avoid horrendous traffic chaos (well, worse than normal). Expect Hanoi’s millionaire population to rise significantly around April 3 – 5 as well as tourist numbers.
Full details of the race is available on the official F1 web site.
