Coronavirus axes China F1 but Hanoi race good to go

The Chinese Grand Prix in April has officially been postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak, but Hanoi’s F1 race has received the green light from the FIA, the sport’s governing body.

The move to put the Shanghai race on ice followed a request from the Chinese authorities. A new date will be fixed in due course.

Meanwhile, BBC Sport is reporting that F1 managing director Ross Brawn has stated the Hanoi race will take place as planned on April 3 – 5. This comes hard on the heels of the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia (PCCA) being added as a support race to the debut Hanoi Grand Prix.
